What We Do

Who we are:

Welcome to The Scottsdale Fire and Life Safety Foundation, a newly established organization committed to bolstering the efforts of the Scottsdale Fire Department. Our foundation is dedicated to advancing the safety and welfare of all members of our community – residents, visitors, and businesses alike. By minimizing the risk of wildfires and ensuring our firefighters are equipped and supported to uphold their duty with excellence, we aim to foster a secure environment for all who call Scottsdale home.

Wildfire Prevention and Education AKA Funding Priorities:

A top priority is our commitment to wildfire prevention and education. Across our community, we prioritize the protection of vast natural landscapes like the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, spanning an impressive 35,000 acres, equivalent to approximately 57 square miles. Within this expansive preserve lies a dedicated Nature Area spanning nine acres, offering a haven for diverse flora and fauna. Additionally, we safeguard the Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt, a corridor stretching 11 miles, containing a variety of parks, lakes, paths, and golf courses.

Early Detection Cancer Screening

Did you know that firefighters face a 62% higher risk of developing esophageal cancer? And traditional cancer screenings often occur too late for these brave men and women. That's why we're advocating for early pre-screening initiatives. By catching cancer in its earliest stages, we can ensure prompt and effective treatment, potentially saving lives and preserving the well-being of our courageous firefighters.
